Welcome to The Purple Spectrum
For the beautifully w(e)ired - late-diagnosed neurodivergent women and mothers of neurodivergent children. Putting together the pieces after years of feeling different. A home for real connection, validation, and hope - beyond symptoms, labels, and boxes.
Hi, I'm Violeta, and I'm right here with you in this beautifully complex journey. Like many of us, I discovered (or rather, confirmed) my own neurodivergence while seeking answers for my child. Those powerful "aha" moments - recognizing patterns, understanding why certain things felt so incredibly hard, realizing we weren't just imagining the struggles - they change everything.
My background in molecular biology and years analyzing complex systems has given me tools to dig deeper into the science behind how our minds and bodies work. But honestly? The real learning happens in the trenches of daily life. In those crushing bathroom-floor moments when we're desperately trying to figure out why our brilliant kids (and ourselves) simply don't fit the neurotypical mold.
The challenges we face are real. The confusion, the overwhelm, the feeling like we're speaking a different language than everybody else - it's all valid. But so is our resilience, our creativity, and our ability to see the world in ways others inherently can't (yet).
Navigating neurodivergence is already hard enough for one person alone. But being one AND also caring for one (or more) - that’s a whole different story. And it is truly a humbling one.
Here, we explore what's really happening beneath the surface - the biology, the environmental factors, the approaches that go from barely coping to fully supporting our beings as a whole. We share what's working, what isn't, and what we're still figuring out along the way.
This is our space to connect the dots together, to validate each other's experiences, and to remember that being different isn't something to fix. It's something to understand, cherish and honor deeply. Understanding our neurodivergence empowers us, and this community is here to support that journey - one messy step at a time.
You're not broken. You're beautifully w(e)ired. And you belong here.💜
